New Beginnings

Hi there

As you will see from the title of this post, Purple Butterfly Crafts has undergone a few changes i.e. Sofia is now at the 'helm' following my retirement last week.  I hope that you will all offer her the same loyalty that I was fortunate to have received.

There is a new member of the team and perhaps you could take a look at the 'Meet The Team' Page so that you can get to know her.  She is a lovely lady and I am certain she will soon become a valued member of staff.

Sofia, who you all know and love, has undertaken the role of Supervisor and she will be a brilliant replacement for me as I have taught her all I know (I hope).  I will continue to maintain the blog until further notice so I will keep you all up to date with the latest stock available as soon as it arrives.  Below are  a couple of cards for you made using the free papers from the latest Creative Card Making Magazine, I hope you like them.

Thank you for all your support over the past 6 years.

Regards

Strawberry Kisses

Hello again,

Introducing the Strawberry Kisses range which is due in stock in the very near future.  Our lovely Kate did the colouring on this image and a great job she has made of it.  The papers are all from the Strawberry Kisses Crafting CD and there are some beautiful ones to chose from.  The image is 'Friends' from the stamp collection.  We will be stocking this range in time for the demonstration by Crafter's Companion on 10th March 2012 so do come along and see what they have to offer - a great way to pick up tips and ask about anything you are not sure of.  The demonstration is on from 10 am - 4 pm and you can stay as long as you like!!!

We are also going to be stocking the Spectrum Noir Pens and these should arrive at the same time - can't wait to try them!!

Here is another card made using the same Strawberry Kisses range.  This time the stamp used is called 'Little Miss' and the papers are all from the CD - told you they were lovely!

See you later .....

Meet Boofle

Hello again,

Just wanted to show you what we have done using the free stamp from the latest Creativity Magazine - isn't he cute!  The papers we used are from the Papermania Capsule Blueberry Pie Collection.  The buttons are all from a pack of buttons just in from Do Crafts costing only £2.99 and there are loads in the bag.  The embellishment was created using a Tim Holtz die and a Spellbinders scalloped die was used for the layering.  There are lots of decoupage and some gorgeous papers in this new 'Boofle' range and of course there are card kits and stickers available too.  We just love these new designs.

Don't forget we have a demonstration on this weekend and I am certain you will get to see lots more of how to use Boofle in your cardmaking and scrapbooking!!!

See you later ....

Using Promarkers 2

Once again apologies for the photographic quality of this card, obviously the light was insufficient at 6.30 am today and the card really is much prettier in reality.

Promarkers were once again used on the outside edges of this scalloped card and also on the layers of the topper and the stamped image itself, which incidentally is from the Crafters Companion Popcorn Bear Rubber Stamp range.  The papers used were both from Papermania, the pink from the Red Hot range and the blue from the Blueberry range.  The border was created using a Martha Stewart border punch and the sentiment was stamped using Memento Ink and one of the greetings included with the rubber stamp.  Card Kandi and glitter were added for a bit of sparkle.

We are Friends

This sweet card was made using yet more free decoupage from Do Crafts.  This could be sent as an Easter card or for a birthday and the colours are just so fresh they make you think of spring.  The papers are from the Papermania Lemon Sorbet collection and the border was made using a Martha Stewart punch.  The greeting was made using Safmat and the Kanban pearl gems finish the card off nicely.

More free decoupage

Yet another card made using the  decoupage papers that were free with the latest Creativity Magazine.  The edges of the 6 x 6 scalloped edged card were coloured using a Blossom Promarker Pen as was the layer created with a Spellbinders Nestabiliy die.  The leafy swirl is one of the Marianne Creatable dies and the bow was made using Woodware ribbon.  Card Kandi was added for the finishing touch.

Using Promarkers

Apologies for the quality of the photograph of this card, it really does not do it justice.

We have a promotion on Promarkers during January, the single pens are £1.99 each or 3 for £5.00 ( a saving of £1.00) and this card has been created to show that a simple peel off can be coloured using these pens to give a stunning effect.  The outside edges of the card, the edges of the topper and the Woodware ribbon were coloured using Blossom from the Promarker range and this enables you to achieve full colour co-ordination.  A greeting from Kanban was added to finish off.

Teddy easel card

This easel card was made using yet another of the free decoupage papers from Do Crafts (there are so many to choose from).  We added to the Craftwork Cards easel card, papers from Papermania Lemon Sorbet Collection and the flowers were made using one of the Marianne Spiral Flower dies.  The edges of the flowers, the card and the border were chalked with Colorbox Fluid Chalk and the leaves were also a Marianne die.  Papermania gems were added to give a sparkly finish.

Sweet teddy

This sweet teddy card was made using one of the 6 x 6 scalloped edged cards from Crafts UK.  We love these cards as they are just the right size for the free decoupage we have been using recently from Do Crafts.  The edges of the card were inked up using the Vintage Photo Distress Ink Pad and then gold mirri card and Papermania Lemon Sorbet Papers were added.  The Woodware ribbon was coloured using the same ink pad and then the floral embelishment was created using a Sizzix die.

Another cute kitten

Hello again

Here is another cute little kitten from the free decoupage mentioned earlier.  We added to the decoupage, papers from Papermania Red Hot Paper pack and  a few Papermania gems along with a border from the Spellbinders range, not forgetting the 6 x 6 scalloped edged card from Crafts UK.

Cute little kitten

Hello again

As promised here is a card using the free decoupage from the latest issue of Creativity Magazine.  This cute little card was created using one of the many free decoupage sheets and papers from the Papermania Red Hot Paper Pack.  We added a border using a Martha Stewart Punch and some decorative spotted ribbon from Woodware.  Hope you like it!
