Christmas with Tatty Ted

Yet another card from the Tatty Teddy CD, the only excuse is that these images are so gorgeous we can't resist them!!  The card has been created using one of the 8 x 8 scalloped cards from Crafts UK, the tree branch is a Marianne Creatables die and the snowflakes have been made using an EK Success punch.  All the papers (with the exception of the green paper), the image and the greetings are on the CD, so much to choose from!!!

That's all for now, there will be more offers in subsequent posts but in the meantime ....

Another Tatty Teddy

Here's another card created using the 'Especially For You' CD.  All the papers and embellishments/greeting are from the CD, with the exception of the border which is a Martha Stewart Punch.  The card used is one of the 8 x 8 scalloped cards, (our favourite at the moment).  The bows have been glittered just to give extra sparkle and that's it - very easy but effective.

Have a Tatty Teddy Christmas

This card was created using the amazing 'Especially For You' Double Disc from the 'Me To You' Range.  As you can see the images are extremely clear and there are so many on this CD.  This is a fantastic collection of digital papers, decoupage, toppers, greetings, and embellishments and if you cut out the coupon in the latest issue of Creativity Magazine you can get this double disc for only £29.99.  There are also elements on this disc to allow you to print out the images in black and white for you to colour yourself.  If you love Tatty Teddy then don't miss this offer.

Creative Stamping Again

This is another example of the free stamps from the Creative Stamping Magazine.  This Christmas tree was stamped onto white card using a Memento Onyx Black dye based ink pad (the sort we recommend for use with ProMarkers) and then glitter accents were added.  The image was then mounted on a small mat of black card before being placed in the centre of the card.  The 8 x 8 scalloped card had a mat of black card and a piece from a 12 x 12 glittered vellum from DoCrafts as in the previous card attached and a piece of black ribbon depicting 'Merry Christmas'.  The full effect of this card cannot be appreciated since the photograph does not show the glitter very well.  I do love black and white cards, they always look elegant don't they and they are so easy as there is no need to sit for hours trying to match up colours!!!

Creative Stamping

This card was made using one of the 20 stamps given away free with the new Creative Stamping Magazine that arrived this week.  The angels and the NOEL have stamped really well and were coloured with ProMarkers and then highlighted with a gold pen.  The angel wings were glittered and then the images were mounted onto a piece from a 12 x 12 sheet of glittered vellum from DoCrafts.  This was then mounted onto my favourite 8 x 8 scalloped cards and some of Gliterations Peel Offs were added down each side.  In this instance I used brads to secure the vellum to the black background card.  The magazine costs £5.99 and this month comes with 20 very useful Christmas Stamps reputed to be worth £20.00 - can't complain about that!!!!.

Typography Stamps

This card has been made using one of the latest Typography Stamps from DoCrafts.  The stamp has been coloured using ProMarker pens and papers from the Papermania Capsule Lemon Sorbet range have been used as backgrounds for the main image and for the flowers which are also from Papermania.  The stamens in the centre of the flowers are a Kars product and are very useful for giving the flowers a more realistic appearance.  Although you can't see it well from the photograph, glitter has been added as an accent.  Those of you who have been in the shop recently will have seen this card on display above the stamps.  The stamps really do give a great impression and are very reasonably priced at £1.99 each or three stamps for the price of two - great value!!!

Cards from Recent Demo

All of the above cards were made during the DoCrafts Demonstration in August using some of the kits available from DoCrafts.

Craftwork Cards

These cards are examples of the latest Christmas range from Craftwork Cards.  We have sold out of all the card candy used in these examples and also a lot of the papers but further supplies are expected any day now.  The die cuts used in these cards are very easy to use and the cards can all be made very quickly but still look as though they have taken hours to make.  The packs are all reasonably priced and very economical if you have lots to make.

Butterfly Card Kit

This is an example of one of the cards in the Butterfly Card Kits mentioned yesterday.  As I hope you can see there is a lot of detailed embossing on the card itself and the embellishments are included in the kit so it is easy to make a very pretty card and at a very low cost.  This makes these cards ideal for people who are making and selling their cards for charity but equally they are a perfect 'standby' card when you need a card in a hurry for an unexpected birthday etc.

Update for September

Apologies for not posting recently but we have been very busy over at Purple Butterfly Crafts and in the build up to Christmas we have had so much stock delivered there has been little time for anything else.  So what's new you may ask .....  well we have had a huge delivery from Do Crafts and those of you who have been in since the weekend will already have seen all the new products and can confirm that the latest from the Me to You range is absolutely gorgeous and ever so cute!!!  There is loads of decoupage, new clear stamps and wooden backed ones too, there are buy one get one free offers on some of the decoupage too.  We have also got some beautiful papers in 12 x 12 sizes and 8 x 8 and some really fab embossing folders and of course all the embellishments to match.  Don't forget that we have a demonstration this Saturday and Gaynor from DoCrafts will be showing you all how to use these wonderful new products.  The demonstration is on from 10 am - 4 pm so do come along and ask any questions you may have, as Gaynor is lovely and will be happy to help you if she can.

We have also had a delivery of the ever popular Stickles and now have all the colours available and the same with Distress Ink Pads and .... we now have the re-inkers for all these pads too!!!

We have all the latest dies from Marianne Creatables and Nellies and the Christmas ranges are great!  The embossing folders from Creative Expressions are back in stock.  The Typography Stamps also came back in stock at the weekend but have flown out of the door again and we have sold out of a few of the designs, but don't worry more are on the way!  These stamps have been so popular and if you have not tried them yet do have a go with them as the images are crystal clear and as the current offer is buy two get one free they are a real bargain.

We have had some fantastic new yarns in recently including four yarns specifically for making scarves, and there are samples of them available for you to see.   You can make a lovely scarf in about an hour and these make wonderful presents.  In response to requests for yarn for making knitted toys we have finally received lots of colours for you to make your knitted Christmas presents!!

As you will see from our offers page, we are still running the offers on the A4 boxes which are a real bargain and the Grand Calibur (I haven't seen this cheaper anywhere), plus the Nestabling and Sizzix Boutique.  I am not sure how long these offers will be available but to date we have not received any notification to change them so get in while they are available to avoid being disappointed.

The card packs we have available for £4.99 have sold incredibly well and unfortunately we now only have the one design available but we are trying very hard to get further supplies from our other stores.  The good news is that we have managed to get more of the Butterfly  and Floral packs in the same range from another store.  These card packs are really good value as you get everything needed in one pack and the cards work out at only 35p each including the envelopes!!!    You can see samples of these cards on previous postings.

Some of you may remember last year we had jewellery findings and beads that were very competitively priced and were available in small quantities to avoid having to buy large packs of items.  Well, we have managed to obtain further supplies from this company and there is a huge delivery expected any day so watch this space......

That's all for now but we will be back soon.  Happy crafting everyone!!!!

Hello again, still only 145 days until Christmas but here is another card for your inspiration. This card was made using the same Docrafts Filigree Christmas Tree but this time gold embossing powder was used and then the image cut out before mounting onto black card (using the Pinflair gel under the embossing). Two more layers of black/mirri card were used and then attached to the black card base. The glary greeting is again printed onto Safmat as on the previous card. Hope this inspires you all a little even though its only August but we crafters have to make an early start don't we!!!

Oh Christmas Tree .....

Hello again, since there is only 145 days left to Christmas we thought it was time to make up a few cards as inspiration to all our customers. Today's contribution has been created using the Filigree Christmas Tree stamp from Docrafts and we have stamped this image onto vellum using Versamark and then embossed with a gold/black embossing powder. We then attached the vellum to black card/gold mirri card and decorated the tree with card candy from the Wedding Collection. The sentiment was printed onto Safmat and then mounted onto gold mirri card (apologies for the glare). The vellum was attached to the card using Pinflair Gel just under each of the card candy baubles to secure and then we used a gold peel off border as a finishing touch. The photograph does not really do it justice but hope you like it anyway.

Great Value Jewellery

This is a brand new jewellery kit we have recently had come into stock. It is possible to make at least six items of jewellery in the combinations of your choice and all for just £19.99 and you get a small storage box with compartments for all your other bits and pieces too. This kit is the black and white option but there is another coloured version available. Very, very easy to put together and would make lovely little gifts. The only items I have added are a 4 cord ends, 4 jump rings and a couple of lobster clasp fastenings. You do get findings included but because I stretched the charms and beads to make more items there were not quite enough. You could just use the items included in the kit and make less but with more beads and charms on each but I like to get value for money!!!

Sofia's Feeling Festive

Hi everyone

Sofia is getting into the festive spirit early this year with a fab Christmas Rocker card from Kanban. All you Rocker fans out there will love the new Christmas images. We currently have the Penguin option as above and a lovely Mouse in a Teacup in stock but we can get any of the others upon request. Isn't he cute!!

Cute Kitten

It has been a while but holidays have got in the way of posting this card but everything should now be back on track and we should have lots more to show you all in the near future.

This card has been created using an 8" x 8" scalloped card with the Kanban Kitten range of toppers and isn't it just the cutest kitten! The background papers are from the Woodland Folk A4 paper pack and the Papermania Capsule Lemon Sorbet A4 paper pack. The pretty butterfly border is a Martha Stewart Punch and the paper flower was created using an EK Success Flower Punch. The sentiment is from the same Kanban toppers pack and gems were added to the layer created using one of the Spellbinders Nestabilities Dies, as a finishing touch.

And there's still some left!

Laura has created a lovely card again from the same kit and there is still some decoupage and backing papers left. Some of you have obviously seen the cards on display in the shop and been impressed since we only have one pack left!!! It does help to see the kits made up doesn't it? Well done Sofia, Vi and Laura!

Another creation from Vi

Yet another card made using the same Tulip decoupage pack and Vi has also added glitter card and ribbon which really makes an impact. Well done Vi.

Another Tulip

This pretty card has been created by Laura (AKA Flossie) and she also has used decoupage and backling papers from the same pack as Vi and Sofia. There are four sheets of decoupage and 4 sheets of backing papers in this kit which is really good value for only £2.99. Laura has only added some glitter card and ribbon.

Vi's Tulip Creation

Another lovely creation from Vi using one of the decoupage sheets from the same pack that Sofia used last week. These decoupage sheets and backing papers are very pretty indeed.

Sue The Kanban Queen

Another stunning card from Sue using one of the Kanban Elegant Ladies kits. Sue really enjoys decoupage and loves Kanban products - she is our Kanban Queen!!! This beautiful card has been made entirely from one of the kits with nothing added. Well done Sue particularly since you have made this and all the other cards whilst wearing a very fashionable wrist support!!

Sofia's Tulip

Sofia has created this gatefold card from the same decoupage kit and all she has added is the cardstock for the base card. This kit is really good value as even after making two cards there is still enough decoupage for at least another two cards and loads of backing paper left. Well done Sofia but this does not mean that you can 'go on strike' as you said you were going to. There is tons more creativity left in you and we want to see more!!!! I just need to add that Sofia has also made up one of the Christmas kits and these will be shown in a later post.

Sofia took the Challenge!!!

Following the comment that 'Sofia was lagging behind' she decided to show us just what she can do....

The above card has been created using the decoupage kit from the Tulip Range and all Sofia has added is a piece of the polka dot card and some pale green chiffon ribbon and the result is very pretty indeed.

Another creation by Sue

In this card Sue has used one of the Kanban designs aimed at teenagers and she has decoupaged the image and layered it onto polka dot card (you could also put plain card through the cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder to create the same effect) and punched the corners with a corner punch. She has made a card base using pearlescent cardstock and decorated the corners with peel offs. The sentiment is also a peel off. A perfect card for a teenager!!!

Popcorn Bear

This card has been made using a decoupage sheet printed from the Floral disc in the Popcorn the Bear Triple CD. The background papers are also from the same CD. The swirl has been cut on the Cricut and the decoupage was layered onto a die cut from one of the Spellbinders Nestabilities range. The large flower was cut using one of the Creatables dies. The card base is from a pack of Craft UK 8 x 8 scalloped cards and envelopes. These are currently a favourite as there is just enough room to add extra elements without overcrowding the card. The ribbon is a white chiffon that has been coloured using ProMarkers.

Tatty Teddy

This card was made by Sue using one of the A4 Card Kits from the Me To You range. The photograph does not really do the card justice as it has an unusual front opening and is very pretty indeed. There are lots of elements included in the pack and it is possible to make at least 5 cards from one pack.

Floral Card

This card is another creation from either Vi or Laura and they have used more of the free papers from the latest Creative Card Making Magazine. The shape of the card is perfect for the floral panels and the sentiment provides a finishing touch.

Craftwork Cards

These cards have been provided by Craftwork Cards as examples of what you can achieve with the latest stock we have received from them. As you can see the papers are very pretty pastels and we have matching Card Candy too.

Cameo card

Another lovely creation from either Vi or Laura (I will have to encourage them to sign the back or something so that I know whose work it is). This card was made again using free papers from one of the Making Cards Magazines, so many different effects can be achieved with these papers and just a little imagination!

This card has been created using the free papers in an earlier edition of Making Cards Magazine - I think it is either the April or May issue. These magazines are certainly an economical way of making cards and the results can be stunning! I'm not sure if it was Laura or Vi who made this but well done anyway!

Butterfly card

Hello again, it's been a while but I haven't really had the opportunity until now to photograph all the delightful cards that Sue, Vi and Laura have been busy creating - shame on you Sofia you are lagging behind!!!

This very pretty card has been created using the free papers in the latest edition of Creative Card Making Magazine. I think the designs are from Hunkydory and they are very pretty indeed.

Monday 13 June 2011

These two cards have been created from the Especially For You A4 Card Kit. The large one was made simply using the decoupage and backing paper included in the kit and the A4 card also included. The greeting was from the kit and a glittered 21 peel off was added to finish it off.

The other card was made using the decoupage elements that were left over and this image was added to one of the 8 x 8 scalloped cards from Craft UK. Oddments of striped paper were used as a background but you could use any that you have available. A white border was cut from a Spellbinders border die to create the illusion of wallpaper. There are four further card toppers included in the kit that could be used to make four more cards.
